Latest research insights on generator technologies

Over the course of the last semester of its 48-month lifetime, InComEss has successfully accomplished some important research achievements. What is some of the recent research news since our last update?

TEG (Thermoelectric Generator), PEG (Piezoelectric Generator), and TPEG (ThermoPiezoelectric Generator) have been among the generator technologies for which researchers have diligently been focusing on gathering data on critical parameters, such as the generated voltage, energy output, and lifespan. Similar investigations have notably been extended to supercapacitors.

Beyond these activities, initial tests of the commercial material have revealed that there is room for improvement, as they did not provide sufficient energy. In this context, a new configuration has been explored and will be tested, as well. However, these explorations are not limited to generators but also encompass the evaluation of the lithium battery baseline, where researchers are assessing potential impacts and improvements.

Last but not least, efforts are underway to develop sustainable practices in the recycling of TEGs. The focus of these endeavors primarily revolves around PC TEGs for which researchers will conduct trials based on the samples received.
